The flat lock system is simple and neat. The details are the same whether the shingles are installed in a horizontal or vertical direction, or indeed at an angle in between. Although not nearly as directional in appearance as a standing seam system, it is still important to match window and door openings in the façade to the grid of the flat lock joints if a tidy and ordered appearance is desired, unless the design is set at an angle. It is also advisable to size in a similar manner the visible faces of wall copings, windowsills, capped corners etc., to achieve a uniform appearance over the building. The details available for download are for its use on façades
