Cleaning of elZinc finishes

Brief Instructions

In this page, you will find the cleaning process for the most typical stains.

Follow the instructions and always test how you´re going to clean on a hidden area first. If you don´t achieve a satisfactory result please contact your distributor.

Construction dust and dry dirt

elZinc material

elZinc Alkimi, elZinc Rainbow and elZinc Advance.

Cleaning Agents

Lukewarm water and neutal detergent.

Procedure

Wipe with a soft sponge or cotton cloth. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue from the top to the bottom, taking care not to force water into the joints between sheets.

Bird droppings, salt, gypsum,fingerprints and cement

elZinc material

elZinc Alkimi, elZinc Rainbow and elZinc Advance.

Step one:

Cleaning agents

Lukewarm water and neutal detergent.

Procedure

Wipe with a soft sponge or cotton cloth. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue from top to bottom, taking care not to force water into the joints between sheets

Step Two:

Cleaning agents

Diesel fuel.

Procedure

Apply with a cotton cloth and repeat step number one.

Adhesive residues

elZinc Alkimi, elZinc Rainbow and elZinc Advance.

Step One:

Cleaning agents

Step two:

Cleaning agents

Pronto furniture polish (Johnson).

Procedure

Spray and wait a few minutes, gently wipe with a cotton cloth and repeat step number one.

Grease and oil residue

Step one:

Cleaning agents

Cleaning agents

Grafitti and paint residues

elZinc Natural, elZinc Slate, elZinc Rainbow and elZinc Advance

Step one:

Cleaning agents

Step two:

Cleaning agents

Graffiti remover 1500 of brand 3M.

Procedure

Spray and wait a few minutes, gently wipe with a cotton cloth and repeat step number one.

elZinc material

elZinc Graphite, elZinc Crystal, elZinc Oliva and elZinc Lava.

Step one:

Cleaning agents

Lukewarm water and neutal detergent.

Procedure

Wipe with a soft sponge or cotton cloth. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue from the top to the bottom, taking care not to force water into the joints between sheets.

Step two:

Procedure

If step one doesn´t eliminate the paint residues, it is not possible to eliminate with out damaging the surface.

A word of warning

An abrasive material such as stainless wool can be used to help remove blemishes as a last resort only on elZinc Natural. For any other elZinc finish, the abrasive products would damage the surface.
